We translate manuals, websites, in-game texts and audio scripts of video games from English (and sometimes Dutch, German or French) into most European languages and Brazilian Portuguese. We also do voice recordings and linguistic tests.

We are looking for
Games Linguistic Testers for our International Testlab
Our Linguistic Test Department provides linguistic testing services for the videogame industry. As a linguistic tester it is your task to review new games in their final phase of development, checking the localised screen texts, subtitles and/or audio that has been implemented in the game. You check every word you hear or see on grammar, spelling, context, consistency and the client's specific guidelines. The games you will be testing may vary from small web-based PC games to epic games for such platforms as PSP and PS3.
We will expand our Linguistic Test Department and open an International Testlab at our Utrecht headoffice, boasting game testing services for 6 to 8 European languages. We are therefore looking for testers who are native speakers of
• Dutch
• Portuguese
• Polish
• Russian
• Danish
• Finnish
• Norwegian
• Swedish
and who are living in The Netherlands (or willing to re-locate for the duration of at least three months).
We offer testers temporary contracts for the duration of one project. These projects usually last 2 to 3 months and have the habit of starting when you least expect it. Given the developments in theindustry it is not unlikely that we will offer you an extension for up to one year, perhaps even a fixed contract.
You are a gamer, you have excellent linguistic skills in your mother tongue and are very proficient in English. If you are not a native Dutch speaker, it is a plus if you have knowledge of the Dutch language, but it isn't necessary. You have experience in working with online (bug)databases and are familiar with several gaming platforms, such as PC, GBA, DS, PSP, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii and PS3. You will work from our Utrecht-based Testlab and are managed by our experienced Linguistic Quality Assurance Supervisors. You have no fear of flying, because sometimes clients want you to come over to their studio to finish the testing in for instance the UK or USA. You don't mind to work hard and make long working days when necessary, especially when the game's release date in getting nearer. You are a cheerful person that is part of a fun, dedicated and multicultural team that works very closely together.
